"For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior." - Titus 3:3-6.My Facebook feed this week has been blown up by so many things. The victory over rights that have been fought for years, but also the response to those rights shown by people that claim to be something that they aren't acting like. As Believers we are called to be like Christ. Love God, and Love Others. Christ came to this world out of love, because he loved us. That love
is what brought Him here, and that love is why he died for us. LOVE.
The word love is defined as 'an intense feeling of deep affection'. Amongst this definition is another definition. Love is linked to the definition of 'a personified figure of love, often represented as Cupid.' Now Cupid is linked to Valentines Day, the day most couples celebrate their love for each other. But, I would say that the person perfectly qualified to be the personified figure of love is Christ. God is Love.
Christ came to this world out of love. We were foolish, disobedient, full of hatred and malice, and because of that God sent Jesus. Jesus could have stayed with God in heaven, ruling over everything, but he didn't. Why? He loved us enough to sacrifice himself and die a crucial death because He saw an opportunity to save us, and took it. That's the kind of love that I have in and from Christ. The world’s definition is based on how they feel about someone. Biblical love is based off of moral character: how we act and treat others. And we as children of God know that this moral character comes from Jesus Christ.
"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love." 1 John 4:7-8
I've heard from friends that people who claim to love God have been absolutely hurtful towards those who think and believe differently. Yes, I'm calling you out because I am tired of people who claim to love the LORD, who are incapable of truly loving others the way Christ calls us to. May I remind you that it wasn't the people of the Word that Jesus went too...it was the broken. It was the prostitutes, it was the sick and the poor. Why? He was setting an example for us.
We can disagree and believe differently but one thing we can AGREE on that will never change is that GOD LOVES US ALL. The word Agape is a Greek word that translates into "unconditional love". The word is defined as "love; especially compassion, forgiveness, charity; the love of God for man and of man for God."
God is LOVE. CHRIST is LOVE. LOVE wins, because GOD wins. He remains victorious. So LOVE wins because CHRIST wins.
To those of you who claim to know God and love God, why are you finding it so hard to LOVE others? You can have your own opinions and disagree but just remember you too will be judged by God and will have to account for your sins just like me. Who are you to say anything towards others about their eternity. That's up to God not you. SO in the meantime, just LOVE others like Christ has asked us all to do. LOVE is the answer, LOVE is the reason, LOVE is the end result. LOVE wins, because GOD wins. GODS LOVE WINS.
