Journey of Completion

"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue." - Proverbs 31:25-26

I find it amazing how God can transform and mold those who are willing to allow him to. In 2007 I wrote a note to myself at the end of this chapter in my Bible. The note said, 'I want to be this kind of woman. Lord help me to do so!'. I love finding this seven years later and look back on the journey I've been through from then to now.

The journey has been long, and trial some, but full of victories and overcoming odds. If you were to have asked me in 2007 if I saw myself being a college graduate I probably would have laughed at you. Which goes to show again that what we think or see for ourselves God's plan is bigger and better. 

Throughout these past seven years God has changed me and healed me. The girl that wrote that note to herself seven years ago, is now a woman that God has created to be more than what she ever thought possible for herself. I am in awe of the Lord and all He has done and given to me. My life is full of amazing friends who have become my second family, I couldn't imagine my life without them.

God continues to bless me and my life more and more. Even though right now I am transitioning and life is frustrating, He remains faithful. I know there is much more of my journey to be had. I know God is going to continue to mold me and refine me. I am thankful for all He has done and will continue to do in and through me. He is so good and worthy of me living my life for Him. 

Shekinah Glory

"When Moses when up on the mountain, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the Lord settled on Mount Sinai. For six days the cloud covered the mountain and on the seventh day the Lord called to Moses from within the cloud. To the Israelites the glory of the Lord looked like a consuming fire on top of the mountain." - Exodus 24:15-17

Wow. What a sight that must have been. To see the glory of the Lord like that in person is amazing. I also start thinking about the Israelites. After seeing something so amazing the Shekinah (defined as 'the glory of a divine presence.') glory of the Lord, how and why would you continue to doubt his capabilities? It does not make sense to me at all. I think if I saw the Lord show up like that I would be so in awe that I would want to do nothing else but serve Him.

"Having the glory of God,  its radiance like a most rare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal." 

- Revelation 21:11

The glory of the Lord is not just shown in nature, God's glory has the ability to transform our lives and us personally. 

"And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from on degree of glory to another." - 2 Corinthians 3:18

"Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire." - Hebrews 12:28-29

With Glory like that, why wouldn't you want to worship and serve God? 

I'll end with this quote from the Matthew Henry Commentary.

He states, "And through faith in the atoning Sacrifice. we hope for greater honour than Moses ever enjoyed on earth. Now we see through a glass darkly, but when he shall appear, then face to face. This vision of God will continue with equal if not increasing brightness of JOY, not for a few days only, but through eternity." 

Evidence of Christ's Love

"Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high." 

- Luke 24:45-49

I absolutely love this part of scripture. The first line gets me. "And he opened their minds so they could understand the scripture." I feel like that is a key scripture. With Jesus opening our minds we are able to understand not only the importance of scripture, but have an understanding of it. Yeah sometimes it doesnt make sense and we need to dive deeper to the core of it, but thats what is so wonderful about scripture. 

He gave us the understanding of scripture and to follow it up, he sent us the Holy Spirit. Put these two together and we have a great undrrstanding of Jesus' love for us. He loved us so much that not only did He die for us, he gifted us with the scriptures and the Holy Spirit. We have the ability to seek Him through The Word and have the Holy Spirit besides us, helping us through life. I find myself blessed by this obvious evidence of the love Christ has for all of us. 

Chosen, Covered by Him

“Moses said to the Lord, ‘O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past, nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.’ The Lord said to him, ‘Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.’” 

- Exodus 4:10-12 

No matter where you go or where God calls you, walk in confidence knowing that because He called you, He will go before you. He will give you the tools and words to say, so you will succeed in the mission He has given you. Moses came from royalty, and became a shepherd, to him he wasn’t good enough to lead Israel out of slavery.

God chose David, who was shepherd and made him a King. Which shows that God can choose and use anyone. In Moses he took a prince, turned shepherd and made him a leader of an entire nation. God chose Him.

“God sometimes makes choice of those as his messengers, who have the least of the advantages of art or nature, that His grace in them may appear more glorious. God promises, I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth. Even Aaron, who could speak well, yet could not speak to purpose unless God gave constant teaching and help; for without the constant aid of Divine grace, the best of gifts will fail.” – Matthew Henry Commentary

Remember, when God calls you, know He will give you the words to speak. Never think you are not good enough to do what God calls you to do. He knows what you are capable of more than you do. Trust Him, know He is stronger than your circumstance. If Moses can face off against Pharaoh, you can face what God has chosen you for.
