Faith and Love

“If I have faith that can move mountains but have not love, I am nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:2B.

I love this scripture because you think having faith brings you close to God. It does but love is greater than faith. Loving Christ is what brings you to have faith. You can have the strongest, solid faith but if you cant love and comprehend love, your faith doesn’t mean anything. Later in this chapter in verse 8 Paul says “Love NEVER fails”. Our faith will because we are human afterall, we have weaknesses inside us but if you have love and show love, love will never fail you or the people you show love to. Not saying that faith isn’t important. It is! Faith keeps you focused and can be very strong within us.

Faith is defined as “complete trust and or confidence in someone or something.” That’s the general definition. We as Believers define Faith differently. Faith to us is “Having a strong belief in God and the Word of God. We base that faith on our spiritual apprehension rather than proof. Paul says in the very last verse in this chapter that “These three remain: Faith, Hope and Love. BUT the GREATEST of these is love.” Love conquers all. Love NEVER fails. Love is the reason we are all here. Christ loved us enough to save us from eternal damnation and pain. His love was stronger. His love is eternal. I encourage you to show love to someone, whenever you think about it. It may just make their day. There is so much strength and power in love. Which is why it’s so great.
